JES developed the tool "Risk assessment and safety plans in cases of domestic violence and domestic abuse" for the M.A.I.E. of the Ministerio Público Honduras (RRPP), to strengthen the process of taking complaints from victims of abuse and provide quality care and warmth in Honduras.

🇵🇦 From May 25 to June 15, 2022, the course on identification of human trafficking through interviewing victims was held with great success in Colón, with participants from different public institutions, such as the Judicial Branch, Public Ministry, Directorate of Judicial Investigation, National Police, Institute of Legal Medicine, National Border Service, National Immigration Service, and the Ministry of Education.
Thank you to the magistrate of the CSJ, Angela Russo of the Access to Justice and Gender Unit of the Judicial Branch and Silvia Cesar of the Unit of Identification and Attention to Victims against Trafficking in Persons in Panama of the Ministry of Security, for presenting the protocol for judicial action against and the detection form for victims of human trafficking in Panama.

Last week JES hosted a knowledge exchange between the Ombudsman’s Office for Human Rights in Procurador de los Derechos Humanos and its counterpart in Costa Rica Defensoríacr, as well as the Inter-American Court for Human Rights Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos and the Center for Justice and International Law-CEJIL.
Great to be part of this successful collaboration for the protection of human rights in the region with the support of Embajada de Suecia en Guatemala/Sveriges ambassad i Guatemala.
In Guatemala, JES held a seminar on state responsibility in response to cases of torture and other cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. We trained members of Procurador de los Derechos Humanos and strengthened their capacity to apply human rights standards in the analysis and investigation of cases.
