We're wrapping up and we're curious: When was the last time you were at the Library?
Follow up question: what wonderful services were you enjoying while there?
"Libraries are places where communities connect - to things like broadband, computers, programs and classes, books, movies, video games, and more. But most importantly, libraries connect us to each other."
- Molly Shannon, National Library Week Honorary Chair
Thaavi stopped by the Library with his mom to enjoy the super cool kids space and make some new friends - and that's what connecting with the Library is all about!
We want to know: how do YOU connect with your library?
The celebration for continues with this colorful announcement: ACDL library cards now come in colors! Express yourself and pick a blue, green, purple, or rainbow card π
All ACDL patrons are entitled to one free replacement card. Any replacement card after that costs $1.00. And if you don't have a library card, now is a great time to get one!
It's and we're looking at the ways in which you can connect with your library. Cas and Dennis both enjoy coming in to use our fast reliable WiFi.
How do YOU connect?
We love seeing the ways that you connect with us at the Library but we also love reaching out to the community. You may remember that during the Winter Creative Carnival, we invited donations of non-perishable food items to distribute to local charities. The Geneva Public Library donated 75lbs of food to the Geneva Food Pantry, presenting the donations to Sandi Kleps. The Ashtabula Public Library donated two large boxes of food to the Blessing Boxes at the First Presbyterian Church and the United Methodist Church, accepted by Rev. Samuel Monte and Rev. Watkins.
And we want to thank all of you who were a part of that community connection!
Today is Take Action for Libraries Day, part of the celebration. Every year, Congress crafts a budget for the federal government that provides vital funding for libraries nationwide. Oh and shout out to the guy who makes Home Delivery possible π
We were happy to be able to meet with State Senator Sandra O'Brien today for the Ohio Library Council's Legislative Day. It's all part of the action for and connecting with our community!
